Yorkshire Terriers in the San
Francisco Bay Area, California
Welcome to Jam's Yorkies
I am excited you are visiting with me. My name is Jam. I am a hobby breeder of this fantastic breed called Yorkshire Terriers aka Yorkies. I never thought in a million years I would have a small dog as my friends would tell me. I grew up with a German Shepherd so how do you switch from a herding dog to a toy?...lol
This breed took me by surprise when I inquired through a local ad about one of these beauties. I was smitten at first sight! Little Hershey won my heart along with my human family of 6. She would go on daily trips every morning while taking kids to school, snuggle up and was our little shadow. Little did I know she was actually taking over and stealing our hearts. Unfortunately, we lost her to a untimely death. At that point, I knew I wanted nothing else but a future with Yorkies.
Hence, here I am today! I have been a breeder of 10 plus years. I have had the privilege of learning from show breeders of 25 plus years; mentors in the breed I call friends to this day to ensure I am on the right track regarding the breed and its' standards.
I enjoy this breed immensely and truly believe in a quality dog that represents the standard. Although every pup born is special, quality not quantity stands for itself.
I respect the ones before me that have strived, labored and prevailed to produce such quality dogs that have given us today a Yorkshire Terrier. Without them, we would not have such a wonderful breed.
All my Yorkies are raised in my home, loved and spoiled. Not kenneled and part of the family. Pee pad and doggy door training begins at 8 weeks of age. This does not mean they are fully trained, however, with consistency and diligence on owner(s) part, they will be successful at training.
Puppies are Vet checked, one year health guaranteed, against all death congenital health disease of the heart and liver only. (Must provide evidence of findings from Internal specialist within the field of medicine). UTD on all shots before leaving. Puppies leave at 12 weeks or age appropriate. AKC limited registration or full rights at my choosing. If at anytime I believe puppy is at risk or to small for breeding dog/female will not be given registration papers until proof of neuter or spay has been provided to me. No dogs/female is to breed under standard size. This will endanger female. No exceptions so don't ask!
Breeding rights offered at my discretion! Quality pups will be my first pick and held back for evaluation. All contracts are sold as pet quality. Males are DNA tested/Stud service available to approved female.
